So why are we doing this? It’s all Ewa’s fault. She had a dream of going to Australia ever since high school and when I met her in April of 2006, some of her ideas brushed off on me. I just could not let an opportunity like that pass me by. Going down under for a couple of months, a year, or two. A taste of a little independence perhaps? Get to know each other better? Break up from the routine of everyday life? Gain some life long lessons? A sense of adventure? Still not being anchored too deeply? Sure. I think it’s a combination of all those little reasons. It just makes perfect sense to do this now.

Having obtained Work Holiday visas for Australia, we’re flying out to Auckland, New Zealand on January 31st 2007. Then we’re in Sydney on March 9th. What happens next? We might settle down in Sydney for a while. We might buy a used car and drive around parts of Australia. Ewa also started applying to universities for a number of graduate programs. Or, we might come back sooner than we thought. Above all else, we want to see as much of Australia as possible and document the experience. We’ll see I guess …
